Hurricane Lowell Updates & FAQ's

Koʻa Kea Resort is open and welcoming guests back following Hurricane Lowell. Our spa, restaurant, pool, and pool bar are open and operating as usual. We are grateful that our resort and team came through the storm safely, and we are honored to welcome you back to Kauaʻi. As our island continues its recovery, we kindly ask guests to explore with care and show respect for surrounding communities, businesses, and neighbors who are still rebuilding. Your visit can be part of Kauaʻi’s continued renewal. We encourage you to enjoy the many local businesses and experiences that are open while remaining mindful of areas that may still be recovering. Together, we can support the island and move forward with aloha.

• The Spa at Ko'a Kea is open and welcoming guests and visitors. At this time, oceanfront spa experiences and services remain temporarily unavailable. We look forward to restoring these offerings as soon as conditions allow.
• Red Salt is open and operating serving daily breakfast and dinner.
• Kala Kai Pool Bar is open and operating daily.
• Pool is open and operating daily for hotel guests and visitors with a day pass.
• Hoku Watersports will open on October 12

Due to the impacts of Hurricane Lowell, direct beach access from Ko'a Kea has been disrupted at this time. Alternatively, there is easy walkable access to Po'ipu Beach from our neighboring properties.

Ko’a Kea Resort is fully operational for guests as of September 16th. Restoration work will continue in select areas as our team completes the recovery process on first floor rooms impacted by the storm.

At this time, we are recommending that guests be mindful of the North Shore. We kindly ask guests to be respectful of the North Shore community at this time, follow posted signage, and observe any local advisories and closures that are still in place.

Visitors currently on Kauaʻi should avoid heavily impacted areas, and follow county and emergency guidance.

Visitors should travel with patience and flexibility, recognizing that some businesses may be managing limited staffing, supplies, or services.

Supporting local restaurants, shops, and activities that are operating can make a meaningful difference for Kauaʻi businesses, employees, and families.
